Like A God is a song by The Weeknd released as a part of the soundtrack for his show The Idol.

Unlike the soundtrack’s other placements, Like A God actually portrays the background story of the show’s main characters Jocelyn and Tedros. The first verse covers the story of Jocelyn’s mother, who presumably died from cancer. The second verse covers Tedros’ life pre-Idol, sitting as a back-story to the show. Both are told from a narrative perspective.

The song was premiered on The Weeknd’s Instagram June 26th, 2023, and then performed live on tour on June 28th in Dublin, before being released on June 30th, together with “False Idols” as the Episode 5, Part 1 pack.
