FAN was first previewed by Offset at a concert in Qatar on December 9, 2022. In May of 2023, Offset revealed the song’s title and that it would be on his upcoming sophomore solo album in an interview with Variety. The track’s release was announced by Offset in an Instagram post on September 6, 2023.
