“warning” sees midwxst harmoniously sing over an up-tempo pop instrumental about a rocky relationship that has him doubt if his significant other’s love for him is true or not and reflect on both their past and future together.

The second lead single for Edgar’s debut album E3, “warning” was first previewed on Instagram with the caption “warning. 8/4” alongside a trailer of the music video on July 27, 2023. On the same day, Edgar took to 3point5 for an interview and live performance of the song. On the day following, Edgar would then post a HDQ snippet of the song.
