Dear Chaos is the third studio album by Irish musician Talos. It was announced on June 21, 2022 along with the release of the album’s second single release of ‘All Ours’, following the lead single ‘dance against the calm’ release a month prior. In the announcement post, he explains the concept and inspiration behind the album, as well as some of his process of making it and how it changed the way he writes music:

Dear Chaos is a portrait of destruction, loss and ultimately renewal. This album gave me a number of gifts. In the beginning, I struggled a lot with finding a reason to make an album at all outside of the very simple fact that it’s ‘just what I do’. I realised at the time that the project itself was kind of getting away from me and my initial ideas around what it was and how it should exist seemed distant, and I needed to reestablish my holds on it. In essence the house had to be burned down and the project needed to die for this album to be made. It feels like a first release to me in a way, not that it is a seismic shift in the sound, but more that it is a seismic shift in the way the music is made and why it is made. My experience whilst creating it shapeshifted from the feeling of being followed by a looming shadow, to it being like a life raft that I clung to in difficult times, to an ally and confidant that sat with me in the dark and just listened. The most important thing that it gave me however was a more acute understanding and awareness of human indifference, and the fact that all of these big experiences that we have are just ours and no-one else’s. Like the making of this album. It was one thing to me and I’m now very excited to see and hear what it might be for you. E
