Full IDK F65 Album Lyrics

F65 is IDK’s fourth studio album.

IDK himself considers the album to be his tenth. He has gone on the record to compare the album to his 2015 mixtape, SubTRAP. IDK had to say this:

“My new album is kinda like a matured version of SubTRAP, but I’m talking about people of color in general, not just drugs. I learned I have a special gift, I can have a conversation with someone one time and be able to tell their story in a way they couldn’t, but always wanted to. I’m seeing what I was blessed to do. [This will be shown in the music].”

The album takes its aesthetic inspirations in part from both the Formula One World Championship and African-American history. The start of this trend began on August 26, 2022 when IDK released a two-pack of songs titled, W13 alongside a racing-themed calendar that teased upcoming announcements with Formula 1 World Championship tracks. “W13” also being the model name for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team’s 2022 car.

On Christmas Day 2022, IDK took to Twitter to publicly announce the album’s title, along with the claim he’s been “working on the album his whole life.” Later sharing more info on Instagram on January 16, 2023, including snippets with racing samples and a photo of a young Jochen Mass, a former Formula 1 driver. Beneath the post, IDK commented;

F-65 is a world I created. It’s a place to be free and honest, provided that we respect everyone in this world.

Leading up to the first single, Radioactive, snippets were being posted to IDK’s social media frequently. The track would eventually release on February 17, 2022, which was also teased on the calendar.

On March 24, 2023, IDK dropped the album’s second single, 850 (We On Top) with Rich The Kid, as a surprise release.

On April 19, 2023, the album’s tracklist and features were accidentally displayed on Apple Music’s pre-save landing page. IDK confirmed the tracklist later that day. Throughout the album’s rollout, IDK mentioned “Free Coast” often, he explained it in the announcement.

Often times African-Americans are questioned and even ridiculed for not understanding their history. Well… the effects of Trans-Atlantic slavery and lack of in-depth teaching in the American school systems do not make learning as easy as some would expect.
“Free Coast” is a world created to bring awareness to Cape Coast, Ghana (where slaves were taken from West Africa to America) and Freetown, Sierra Leone (where slaves were freed) through combining both flags and their historic components to make one movement.

Free Coast was given a flag. The flag’s design borrows the tri-color pattern of Sierra Leone and Ghana’s flags, the color palette of IDK’s previous albums, and The Black Star of Africa
