Full J Hus Beautiful and Brutal Yard Album Lyrics and Tracklist

Beautiful and Brutal Yard is the third studio album from Stratford, East London genre-bender J Hus, and the follow up from his Number 1 sophomore studio album Big Conspiracy, released January 24th 2020.

The title’s acronym is B.A.B.Y, paying homage to Hus’ popular adlib and moniker, Hustala Baby. It was seemingly set to be called Don’t Say Militancy after Hus adopted the term heavily on his return to social media. After months of speculation, in June 2023, Hus confirmed that this won’t be the title.

J Hus announced he’s working on his third studio album in mid-2020, later putting out consistent previews of new music on his Instagram since August 2020. Hus confirmed with an Instagram Story in February 2021 that the album is set to be 26 tracks long and be released in August 2021 – which did not come into fruition due to unknown reasons. Nonetheless, Hus continued to sporadically share snippets of new music as well as various freestyles over classic Hip-Hop beats on his social media platforms, replying to fans saying music is expected after his May 27th birthday.

In-house producer and good friend JAE5 shared in October 2022 that he is not involved on the new album, marking the first time a Hus album will not be executively produced by him, TSB will executively produce the LP. In January 2023, Hus finally shared the message that the album is set to be released and will be in time for summer:

Album out mid year & visuals. I’M BACK!!!

Hus’ long awaited album rollout began on May 23rd through Spotify-sponsored billboards around East London showing the phone number 07700 152705. There were also police tape branding “Don’t Say Militancy” over the billboards. When the number is called, an automated message is read where fans could also leave a message for Hus to read as well as opt into text messages.

The albums leading single, and two-year teased, “It’s Crazy”, was released on May 25th with accompanying visuals, marking his very first music video since 2017. On June 8th, Hus released the second single “Who Told You” featuring Drake, peaking at Number 2 on the official UK Charts. On June 25th, through a text, Hus announced the album to be 19 songs and 8 features.

On June 28th, Hus embarked on a Certified Lover Boy-esque feature rollout through promotional billboards in Stratford. The cryptic wordplay confirmed the likes of Burna Boy, Jorja Smith, CB, Villz, and Popcaan all set to be on the project. The album title, artwork and July 14 release date was announced on June 29th alongside an album trailer narrated by Idris Elba, which also confirmed Naira Marley and Boss Belly to feature. Hus also announced his UK Tour commencing in October 2023, his first tour since the Common Sense tour in 2017.
