Kevin Abstract – Heights, Spiders, and the Dark Lyrics

Updated

on

“Heights, Spiders, and the Dark” is the 12th track off of Kevin Abstract’s 3rd studio album Blanket. The track’s instrumental is a slowed down and more somber version of the instrumental heard on the title track. In this song, Kevin details the aftermath of a romantic fallout. A common theme seen throughout this album is Kevin falling in love with a close friend, which is especially seen here. It seems as if Kevin confessing his feelings to said friend has made them grow closer apart, and in the outro of the song Kevin pines for his friend to come back to him. A personal theory of mine is that this song is called what it is because all three things named in the title are childhood fears(childhood being a central theme throughout the album) which connects to the subject matter of the track because as an adult this would be Kevin’s greatest fear, thus connecting both the subject of the track and the title through fear.

Heights, Spiders, and the Dark Lyrics by Kevin Abstract

[Verse]
I saw myself today in a stranger on a train
I saw us this morning in kids in the garden
Blended into you, you melted into me
Funny how you and I, we became we

[Pre-Chorus]
Can’t get you off my mind
The thought of you is a bind
I check your world every night
To see if you’re alright
My friend and my muse
You make me so confused
The things that I would do
To keep all of you

[Chorus]
To keep all of you
To keep all of you
To keep all of you
To keep all of you
To keep all of you
To keep all of you
To keep all of you
To keep all of you
