“THE SUN” is the second single from Kenyan rapper and singer-songwriter KayCyy for his debut LP, WHO IS KAYCYY?, released on March 11, 2022. The track is produced by the album’s executive producer, Gesaffelstein.

The track was first teased on November 30, 2021, as KayCyy revealed a thirty-three second snippet of the song, teasing his fans to get ready for new music. Two days later, on December 2, 2021, KayCyy announced that slowthai would be landing on the album’s version of the song.

On February 2, 2022, KayCyy teased on his Instagram page a new snippet of the track, along with the song “OKAY!”.

On March 3, 2022, KayCyy announced through Twitter that the song would get officially released on March 11, together with a new track titled “LOVE & HATE,” as a part of the TW20 50 EP.
