bag or die” is the sixth solo studio album (seventh in total with a collaborative project Baby Gravy 2) by bbno$, following his 2021 LP, “eat ya veggies”. As bbno$ says, the title is a play on 50 Cent’s “Get Rich or Die Tryin’”.

bbno$ claims that this album had been in the making for two years, even though some of the tracks on it, such as “b to the b” and “deadman” were made back in 2019.

The album had been teased for the first time in January 2022. Later that month, bbno$ posted a YouTube Shorts video saying at the end:

Christian Dold, also known as Diamond Pistols, is a music producer and songwriter, bbno$’s friend, and a frequent collaborator. Obviously, he’s involved in the production and writing of most of the tracks from the album.

In late January bbno$ announced that the album would be coming out before his birthday (June 30). By this, he settled the approximate release date – the first half of 2022. The title of the album was revealed by bbno$ himself during his Europe tour in March, 2022.

Nevertheless, a couple of months later, in a private conversation with a fan bbno$ told that the album was going to be pushed back for an uncertain amount of time. The new release date (Q3 2022) was leaked through the HITS Daily Double website.

On May 20th, through his Discord server, bbno$ confirmed the leaked information and announced the more exact release date.

On June 11th, in the LADYGUNN interview bbno$ told that the album will be coming out on September 9, 2022.

After facing the song distribution issues and having some personal problems bbno$ prefers not to talk about, his third single off the album, “sophisticated”, and the entire project were pushed back to August and October respectively.

On August 19, right after “sophisticated” was released, the album’s pre-release page became available on Apple Music, revealing the cover art, tracklist and release date.

“bag or die” offers only two songs with features from other artists, one of them is Yung Gravy-backed “touch grass” and the second one is “deadman” with Lil Toe.
