Lekau Sehoana shuts down Kiddies Republic company

Lekau Sehoana’s Kiddies Republic is shutting down.

The children’s clothing business under the Drip Group opened its first store in 2022, at the Mall of the North, in Polokwane, Limpopo.

The businessman released an official statement, confirming that the business is in the process of liquidation.

“In business, an owner takes a risk by operating with the hopes of the business becoming successful. This was sadly not the case. Kiddies Republic was not financially viable thus the difficult and unfortunate decision to close our doors and undergo a liquidation process.”

“The liquidation process of Kiddies Republic is currently underway and the liquidators were appointed last week by the Master of the High Court. All the stakeholders were informed by the management of the liquidation and the subsequent appointment of the liquidators.”

The statement further emphasised that the liquidation won’t affect Drip Footwear.

“The decision to liquidate the entity, the Kiddies Republic, was made independently from any other entity managed by Mr Lekau Sehoana. Drip Footwear is not affected and will remain operational and it is business as usual,” concluded the statement.
